Office of Marketing and Communications

The Office of Marketing and Communications (OMC) provides a range of resources and support for researchers, including:

  • Training for research-engaged academics
    • Communicating your research in the media – provides an overview of how the media operates, what journalists expect, and how researchers can make the most of media opportunities to promote their work.
    • Social media for academics – this course covers UQ’s social media guidelines, how to use social media, how to deal with issues, reporting using analytics and how to find content.

  • The UQ Researchers website helps research students, industry and business stakeholders, other academics and the wider community find UQ research staff.

  • The UQ Experts website is maintained by OMC. While all continuing and fixed-term (of more than 12 months) academic staff are automatically listed on the UQ Researchers website within four months of commencing at UQ, becoming a UQ Expert is an opt-in process.

By opting in to become a UQ Expert, you will have increased opportunities to promote your research and communicate your research outcomes, provide commentary on topical issues, and position yourself and UQ as thought leaders.

To become a UQ Expert, have a look at the FAQs page on the UQ Experts website, which provides detailed instructions on how to opt in.
